The Rhode Island Center for the Book at The Rhode Island Council for the Humanities honored the 2017 Letters About Literature Awards recipients at ceremonies across the state. This year over 420 Rhode Island students sent letters to the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, responding to the prompt: Write a personal letter to an author whose work (either fiction or nonfiction) changed your view of the world or yourself. Close to 50,000 young readers from across the country participated in the national contest sponsored by the Center for the Book at the U.S. Library of Congress http://read.gov/letters/
