Kids Reading Across Rhode Island, Rhode Island’s One Book, One Statecommunity read program for kids, is kicking off its 6th year! This program, offered in partnership with the Rhode Island Center for the Book at the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, encourages students across the state in grades 4 through 6 to read the same book, and engage in community discussions and programs. This year’s selection is Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures by award winning author and National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, Kate DiCamillo.

Kate DiCamillo

Kate DiCamillo will speak at 3:00 PM and a free signed copy of Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures, will be given out (one per family) while supplies last. But that’s not all! Help create a superhero with illustrator Eric Fulford, visit with baby squirrels, preview the new Flora & Ulyssesplay, and enjoy crafts, games, and activities from RI libraries and organizations.

Visit the OLIS Youth Services Pinterest page for links to thematic program ideas, discussion guides, and more information about Kate DiCamillo.

Join in the conversation about Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures with other library book groups and classrooms across Rhode Island.
